Our Philosophy
We are mamas who care for mamas.
Our experience of being thrown into the deep end as new mamas, we feel there’s so much focus placed on the prenatal phase yet disproportionately little emphasis and support given to mamas after birth.
We believe that new mamas need the support and education during their Golden Month (Fourth trimester) so they can recover and nourish themselves before they can nourish and provide for their babies and family.
Our approach is inspired by the beautiful traditions of Asia backed up by modern science. Western cultures deemphasise maternal health in favour of infant wellbeing where many Asian practices hold that the mama is the centre of the whole-families wellbeing.
Traditional Chinese Medicine views the Golden Month as pivotal in women’s health. If the mama is well cared for and allowed plenty of rest, this will safeguard her future health and may even resolve long-existing health woes.
Sufficient postpartum care lays a strong foundation from which the new mother can weather the demands of caring for a brand-new bub that is suddenly the centre of her universe. Strengthening the postpartum mother also provides a springboard for future healthy pregnancies and uncomplicated menopause.
